Aim and Scope

The Conference is devoted to most recent results concerning mathematical problems which arise from materials with memory. Challenging analytical problems are originated from applications in which materials with memory, and smart materials in general, are more and more widely used. Indeed, in a variety of different technological environments materials with memory are nowadays employed. Crucial physical properties of these materials  depend on time also through the whole past history. This peculiar behavior induces to make use of such materials in various different applications such as biomedical tools and in sensors and actuators. The aim of the Conference is to provide an overview of new and interesting analytical results which are originated, more generally, from different applicative areas.

  • Special Session of the Conference

    On April 18th, 2012 it is planned a Special Session on the occasion of the 70th birthday of Professor Mauro Fabrizio. A natural suggestion to honor him within the framework of the International Conference MathProSpeM2012 ''Mathematical Models and Analytical Problems in Special Materials'' follows from his major contributions to this research area, which comprises so many of his interesting results. Venue


The Conference (April 16-17 and 19-20, 2012) will take place at Istituto Nazionale di Alta Matematica (INdAM), Piazzale Aldo Moro 5, Roma (Italy), which is located on the first floor of the Mathematics Department "G. Castelnuovo" (see the map) inside the campus of Sapienza Università di Roma. To reach the INdAM Institute, please take the corridor on your right after getting inside the Mathematics Department from its main entrance, and follow it round to a staircase. Then go up to the first floor where you find the door of the INdAM Institute on your left.

A Special Session (April 18, 2012) will take place in Sapienza Università di Roma, Facoltà di Ingegneria Civile e Industriale e di Ingegneria dell'Informazione, Informatica e Statistica, Aula del Chiostro, Via Eudossiana 18, Roma (Italy).
